hey all,
does anyone here much knowledge about places to ride in Denia on the costa blanca? I'm heading over there for 10 days next month and would like some advice on where to ride. the internet seems to show that its a good destination for riding, with pro teams heading there but i can't find any specifics.

I'd like to find a nice flat straight road to do some 30 minute threshold intervals on and a climb of 20 minutes or longer to do some training on.

other than those 2 things where else is good to ride and whats worth seeing?

From Denia you not only can, but should visit Vall d'ebo, you can go to Parcent and climp up to coll de rates or climb to Tarbena from the other side. Along the coast (sort of) you can ride to Calpe and then return through Gata de gorgos. Honestly, just go to a lbs (I know at least one in Denia) ask them for a map and check road bike routes. Please drink a cortado in Vall d'ebo square:)

Port de Tudons may be a bit too far to ride there and back to Denia, but there are also Castell de Castells and Calossa (ascent starts there both up Tarbena and other coll which I don't remember the name, but you will see it on the map).

Also there are good climbs to Guadalest from La Nucia/Polop and Callosa. I'd recommend the former of the two to go up, the latter to descend.

The road from Benissa through the Jalon valley is nice and would link in with Denia - Moraira - Benissa - Parcent - Pego? - Denia

If you find yourself in Benitachell then head up to the top of the hill with the aerial masts. Once you've done a couple of rides you'll be able to work out your own, there's tons of roads worth riding.

When you're off the bike there's a massive beach in Denia and the marina has loads of bars etc, but I've not been there in season so I don't know how busy the area is.
Javea has decent restaurants/beaches/shops. Granadella is a great cove to spend the day soaking up the sun, and Moraira is a lovely town with some more excellent beaches.

I love Moraira, each "off" day we were riding there from Calpe for a cup of coffee and ice-cream. Routier mentioned "masts" hill, it's a tough one!
