In big tours they ride in the sun 5-8 hours a day. I don't think keeping your tyres out the sun during a break will have any effect.
We do an annual 1000km ride over 6 days on rough country roads and temps between 28-38 deg C.
Just pump tyres to normal pressure each morning, check for cuts, glass etc at end of each day, and select the right tyre. We have found Conti GP 4000S Clinchers good, and Vittoria Evo Pave Tubulars to be pretty puncture resistant and reliable.
On really hot days we reduced pressure by 5-10 psi in the mornings, and had very few issues.
