Any sport that markets itself "buying performance" with high-end gear ends up like that. It's a more in-your-face way of showing off your money than any other sport, with the exception of yachting maybe, so it attracts those types. Just a theory.

Disagree with the comments above. Ultimately, every sport attempts to improve by way of better equipment. So, all sports would be guilty of this perceived elitism. Presumably, cycling specific, then presumably we should still be riding penny-farthings.

That's a good idea, TP. Some people (unnamed to protect their innocence) may be particular fans of Rapha for one reason or another...or one person or another....
Would it be possible to change the subject heading then? Perhaps something like "Post your Rapha obsession here, Video Links" (or something better that you may come up with).
...and perhaps add a note at the top of the first post to clarify this change of thread theme that would only make sense a few pages later.

I've never been quite sure why, if Rapha clothing is so very fine, the featured riders look so emotionally drained, vaguely disconsolate, overwhelmed with the greatness of their task and potentially troubled by nagging hemorrhoids. Many of these problems seem to be shared by Ralph Lauren models. I'd suggest the more tawdry, sultry and come-hither look of Guess Jeans advertisements, around the heyday of Anna Nichole Smith. Why don't they feature ZZ Top background music instead of angst-inducing melodies? I know I'd buy more of their stuff if they had Pussy Riot sound-tracks and Snooki from "Jersey Shore". Right??!
