Looks like Slowtwitch is blocking all discussion on Lance and any race he is in. So with that said, Lance won the SuperFrog race with a course record on the bike and the overall course record.

Anecdotally, but from I hear it seems the August news story has shot his reputation to bits with the general (i.e. not really interested in cycling) public, who now regard him as a little cheat.

I visit numerous other special interest forums (various non-sports hobbies), and the feeling on all of them is uniformly that if there has been no evidence and no failed drug test in all these years then LA is definitely just the victim of a witch-hunt.

I am surprised that the LA issue even comes up at some of the forums, but people like to gab about whatever hits the news.

It will be very interesting when everything is released what people think of him in general. I think there is a huge divide. Cancer side he is a god on the sporting side he is a god/cheat with no middle ground.

and what do people think about Virenque when they watch him on Eurosport? or about Millar? or Alberto "The Meat" Contador? or Zabel? or Museuuw? yeah, right, Armstrong is way worse than them. they doped, but he DOPED. they did it quietly, on their own (maybe were even forced to do so), while Armstrong was systematic, had his wife assist him, a private jet (with hidden syringes! and Money Penny and Q as an onboard staff), a foundation that is just a PR cover-up, he went bikin' with Bush (probably corrupted the man with... i don't know, something they guy wanted like... intel on Irak!) and bragged about it all like a high school prom queen... and i'm donald duck

You know all this justification crap makes me angrier than a meat ant whose nest has been jumped on by a naughty schoolboy.

Why do people insist on defending doping by saying other people doped?
Do we do that for any other type of crime? Do we do that for any socially unacceptable behaviour? Do we say to our kids 'it's okay to call your teacher/mother/father/strangers names if other kids are doing it too?
