Some big power numbers there! I'm surprised the screens are left visible. I thought they'd be obscured / taped over.

SRM doesn't show the "thousands"? :noidea:

BTW, they're telling some crap here, track sprinters are doing 15 seconds sprint AT LEAST, there is no way they are producing 2000W in the final straight.

You have to add a 1 for the thousands, not a 2.

:noidea:

EDIT: okay, am I the one misjudging their power? I see some 800W numbers, it must be 1800W so 2000W could be possible, but I thought those were possible during 1 or 2 sec.

But sprinters produce a very stable power during at least 300m

Not sure about the PCVII but the PCVI displays wattage above 1000 watts as kW ie: 1300 watts is displayed as 1.30.

Sprinters do not hold steady power, even in the kilo, it peaks then decays rapidly (comparatively).

Yup.
I really think the article is missing it.
There's no way they can produce >2kW in the final straight.

That would mean they hit 3kW when they launch their sprint.

Some of the best are producing 2500w in the final sprint. For how long, I'm not sure. But they can hit that number.

FWIW http://www.srm.de/es/srm-in-action/comp ... nt-maenner" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've also seen some stuff about 1000 m track power with maximum wattage at 1700, and I assume this would be at the start. 2000 watts in the last 100 meters in track sprint would be quite huge amount of power.
