No idea, just noticed it between two stages. It looked like that I hit something hard(which I didnt!) and the tire pushed the bed of carbon(that the tire sits on) into the rim. Thats the only way I could see it happen. But I was 1000% sure I didnt hit anything.

sounds very odd!

yes, frischi bought 2 sets before the zolder worlds in 2002. when he first rode them(wc in wetzikon 1 or 2 weeks before zolder) he wanted to brake before a corner and rode straight into the public because he was so surprised that carbon brakes less. we than had a national team training camp and he was testing every possible brake pad combination during the whole week. at the beginning of the next season ritchey started with their carbon wheels and he had to sell the lw's.

It must be Cipo's bike.. I am quite sure because of the position... high saddle, low handlebars with a very wide part, and very long stem

It looks like Cipo's indeed (see picture beneath), with the Specialized fork in it. I know Garzelli raced a pair of LWs, but not in his Liquigas-Bianchi-period; Di Luca ownes a pair, but I never saw him racing on it (and besides, this can't be Danilo's bike/position).

Based on the stem length, frame size and handlebar setup, I would say that the bicycle belonged to Mario Cipollini.

However, I always thought that in his time at Liquigas-Bianchi, that he used the Fizik Aliante... in the image the saddle looks like an Arione...

Hey Cipo only rides, what fits his A** :D

If you take a look at the startnumber, it's 161. If Cipo was racing he always got the teams No1. So I'm pretty sure it is his bike.

I understand that Cipo tends to ride his preferential equipment, I was merely stating that throughout the season he rode the Fizik Aliante and not the Arione as pictured.

The bicycle is definitely his without doubt, but please, next time maybe not quite so rude...

It wasn't ment rude in any way. That's why I used a smilie :D

I just wanted to say, that top Pros ride whatever they want. Ullrich is riding Lighties and an AX-Saddles, Zabel will be riding Lighties in 2006 and 2007...

Not new in the list, but a nice picture of Malte Urban on Lightweights during yesterdays World Champs in Zeddam:

Also Radomir Simunek was on Lightweights. I wouldn't advise him crashing them so hardly. But I think they are undamaged, since he continued his race.

Didn't find better pictures. Anyone?

Is he on 20/20 spoke LWs, like is advised for cyclocross?? I think he is not!
