All Cipollinis are very stiff at the BB, Bond included. Maybe RB1K is even stiffer but I doubt you will ever need anything stiffer than the Bond. At least IME.

Hey all, looking for stem and bar suggestions for my Cipo RB800. It’s the last piece I need before I start the build! I live very far from a LBS so impossible to try in person. But I do know I want compact with traditional bend (not ‘ergo’).

Aesthetics and ergonomics are important so I’m leaning toward Deda. It looks good on a Cipollini. Question is:

1) Superleggero / Superleggera combo
2) Ditto, but 35 version (although I absolutely need to be able to tape top of bars too)
3) Superzero bar and stem (I don’t like aero bars, but they seem fairly tame; but again, I need to be able to tape bars up on the flats too or no deal... I also want flat transit from bar to Campy Record hoods, ands it hard to tell if it’s possible with superzero—very little about them online)
That said,
4) Superzero stem with Superleggera bars

Feel free to post response on my other thread to keep this one on topic.

@leej88

I am also on the large side (90kg, 184cm) and have a Bond and NK1K.

I find the Bond a better bike for the roads around me (Surrey, UK) with broken road surfaces, chip seal etc. on longer rides. The NK1K is a much more direct feel for me than the Bond, not worse just different. The Bond gets more mileage as a result, love it. I have riden the NK1K in local TT and its fantastic when you are trying to go as fast as possible, which ain't that fast for me, but it's all relative

Riding both bikes on wide rims with 25mm tyres

I am confused which of the Cipollini frame should i go for as there are just too many models available. May i also ask would it be advisable to get the old RB1k since the RB1k The One is out in the market now. Thanks :)

Nice build Nestor. What size in each bike? I see the geometry differs.

My bond was large and this is medium.Usually i am riding a 52s Colnago which fit me really good.
Back to mechanical with this one and it feels really strange....

I will try to post a review how this rides comparing to Bond and a C60

Just picked this a few days ago:

Image

Didnt need it at all, but got a good deal on the complete bike.
Havent ridden it or even put pedals on it as we are in the middle of a 2+ week stretch of nothing above 20F where i live.
Weight is 7.16 kg (without pedals) which i am really happy with.. i was expecting heavier with Ultegra Di2 considering the Bond is not a particularly light frame.
May end up changing saddle if the SLR doesnt agree with my backside and might have to change to a 120 or 130 stem since the Bond doesn't really have all that long of a reach/top tube.

Looking forward to riding it, hopefully next week. Will be my first experience with electronic shifting.
