I rode the following loop which takes in Ridgecrest boulevard, the winding road pictured above. 72.6km with 2141m vertical. Starting and finishing in Fairfax. Loop section was ridden clockwise.

Rode North Gate Mt Diablo in the morning, then drove across to Fairfax for this loop in the afternoon.

I've been on a bit of a gps-free kick recently, so I don't have the exact route. As Dalai noted Ridgecrest Boulevard is a good reference road, as well as Panoramic Highway, Pan Toll Road, and Bolinas-Fairfax Road. You can make a loop quite easily by using Highway 1, and Mount Tamalpais is only a couple kms further up Ridgecrest if you want a bit more climbing. A lot of the area is on state/national park grounds, so there are more trails than paved roads if you want to explore the hiking and MTB trails as well. :beerchug:

Did a bit of climbing this weekend, might not sound too unusual except where I live is pretty flat!

One of my favourites - Mt Macedon, only 450m (1485ft) but a solid 20min climb none the less; the reward is the downhill down the south side which is pretty much straight down on which you can reach speeds of >90kph :!: :!: :!: I was hoping to do a third lap of my usual 30km loop, but managed to get a flat and didn't have any pitstop so called it quits (I run Tubs).

Today I head to Mt Buller (942m / 3108ft) and rode out from the town of Mansfield making it a 1265m (4175ft) climb, and a 95km ride in total. Legs were shot from yesterdays 2x20min FTP climbs, even the hour climbing at tempo was a huge battle.

Not much to see, was shrouded in cloud cover from about half way up the climb. The village was like a ghost town, I was about the only person there; this time of year the snow would be starting to come in but it has been unseasonably warm recently.

My brother and I spent last week on Spain's Costa Blanca and enjoyed the usual stunning scenery.
