Blown myself up spectacularly on the Joux Plane, twice! Morzine sportive both times, opted against it this year, too much travel last week, looks like it was nice tho.

It was nice (but not a sportive, just a bunch of guys). We rode up la Ramaz from Mieussy, then Encrenaz which brought us to Morzine, so Joux-Plane was from the easy side. They're patching up the roads on Ramaz and J-Plane, French style, loose gravel over asphalt. We turned off toward Villard above Samoens (near the alpine museum) to escape that. I think longest day for me this year.

Yup, that's a big one! Lots of sketchy descents this year in the H-S

Joux Plane in 90 F weather was probably the hardest climb I ever did in the Alps.

Colombiere was painful, but for some reason I didn't find it to be quite as tough.

Riding in the rain this morning. Very unusual for this area and time of year.

Greated by fields of poppies when out earlier. Perfect lazy summer afternoon.
