Best Clinchers for $1500>$2000?

Bontrager are nice, light and well made, just a few £££ over the budget at £2k

sorry mean mixed as in they are a balance for aero and climbing performance which is what I am really looking for

Have you looked at any of the Reynolds wheelsets? they're usually placed at a good price point, and the new 2013's are 11-speed compatible.

will take a look now, been looking at the 2014 easton 50mm full carbon certified tubeless but they unavailable until end of the year and I need wheels now haha

Personally I'd be looking at Zipp 303's or Reynolds Aero 58s. You don't have to google far to find the Zipp's at great prices and the reviews I've read for the Reynolds have been very impressive (I hope to try a pair soon). I think these and the Bontrager's are a step above the Mavic's in design and aero-ness but it's a personal opinion only.

H Plus Archetype rims are excellent and lace those to some DT Swiss 240's ad you will have a brilliant wheelset.

With a DA bike go for the DA wheels, unless you are very heavy.

If you had $1,500 to spend on a new wheelset which would you buy?? I am looking at only established brands with actual aerodynamics (no v-shaped rims). I have added a poll with choices based upon what I have seen on FleaBay and Competitive Cyclist. Please feel free to add comments with additional ideas, etc. Looking for clinchers only, btw.......I know, lets not start.

As an addendum, I would like to add that I am 6' and around 160-165 depending on the time of year. I do mostly fast group rides, however, I plan on getting back into some road races next year after taking some time off due to work. It is not at all mountainous where I live, mostly short, punchy type climbs of less than 3/4 mile in length. That is why I am thinking of trying something more aerodynamic and without regards to weight.

Are you sure the 58's are within that budget? I haven't seen them that cheap anywhere. Also, have a look at the DA 9000 c50 clinchers aero , alloy brake track, Shimano hubs/and Shimano quality. Not too bad on the weight either.

Even though I've already voted, and I don't want to have to vote again , would you consider a FLO 60 or 90 set up?
Light? No.
Aero? Yes.
Well under budget? Yes.
So much under budget you can buy a little "thanks for putting up with my bike obsession" gift for the significant other.

This is recognizing the desire for going to an 'established brand'.

Prend, I was looking at the FLOs, but they are SO DAMN HEAVY, that I cannot seem to wrap my head around going with them......at least the one's I have listed are less than 1,700 grams....not to mention the triathletes have been clogging up the supply chain for the FLOs.
