I'm piecing together a DA9000 build and am looking for a lighter alternative to the CN-9000. Bikerumor weighed in 114 links at 249g. KMC lists their 11 speed chains as campy compatible but with no mention of shimano 11 yet. While I realize the difference between the two specs is surely minimal, I'd like to maintain performance while reducing weight. I'd appreciate any ideas for customizing a DA chain or sourcing a chain from a new supplier.

I have been using a fairly cheap KMC 11 speed chain i bought from ebay and it works as well as the shimano chain.

How many grams you saving by running with the KMC? For what it's worth the KMC missing link works perfectly with the DA 9000 chain.

I use a Yaban/YBN light weight 10spd chain that is actually campy 10spd spaced. It shifts great with my 7800 RD and Ultegra cassette.
On my 9spd MTB I again use a Yaban 9spd chain that is campy 9 width.

I'm wondering if the Yaban 11spd chains will work just as well with shimano 11spd.

i reviewed the kmc chain with the da9000 in my site below. sorry cant post the link per starbike rules. only a few grams difference but looks better imo. the KMC europe site has already updated compatibility info to include shimano for their 11sp chain.
