If they are aluminium nipples and the spokes don't extent to the head of the nipple, the heads may break off.
On the DS the spoke threads may bottom out before full tension.

How far are you moving the rim?

Rim needs to move about 15mm to the DS. LBS gave me brass wheelsmith 14mm nips. If I finish up another bike I hope to re-dish this wheel later this week. I'll report my findings.

If I am doing the calculation right that's only about .4mm difference in ideal spoke length. Should be ok with the current nipples if they are brass.

Does anyone have experience of Corima's 24mm or 32mm carbon rims? Looking to build a reliable, light climbing whilst not breaking the bank. My weight is between 75 and 78 kgs and these would be for mountain rides in Europe rather than everyday use.

I had been planning on building my Record hubs up with Ryde Pulse Sprint 32's but the 24/28h on Stans hubs have been fine as an all round wheel and am still waiting for the front 32h to turn up 4 months after ordering it. So I thought that, rather than stumping up for a pair of Bora Ultra 35 wheels for climbing I'd go carbon on the Record hubs. The only reputable branded rims I can find are from Corima.

Build would be as follows

Campagnolo Record Hubs with CULT bearing upgrade 32H
    Corima 24mm or 32mm Carbon Rims 32H
    Sapim Laser Black Spokes F & R
    Prolock Black Nipples

Rough weight estimate is sub 1200g without skewers for the 24mm and a shade over for the 32mm.

Thoughts?

No personal experience with the Corima rims, but I've hardly ever seen a bad word written about them. Seems like they're a really solid value for money rim with pretty decent specs.

Your build sounds like it would be awesome.

Amended with some actual weights

Campagnolo Record Hubs with CULT bearing upgrade 32H (335g Actual)
    Corima 24mm Carbon Rims 32H (270g x 2 Claimed)
Sapim Laser Black Spokes with Prolock Black Nipples F & R (350g Actual)

So, provided Corima aren't telling porkies, weight estimate is 1225g without skewers for the 24mm.

Rims retail for just under £400 each so far cheaper than Enve and, from what I can gather, just as good a quality.

Just have to wait for the rims.....

I would go with a chinese import. The rims I have been buying seem as good as anything branded and more expensive. Brake track even works in the wet (brake pad choice though make a huge difference). I am sure cormina are fine but I would not spend the extra money they command for a brand name.

I have quite fancied a similar build myself, doing it with 24mm rims and the cult bearing upgrade would give me 1180g with the rims I would source. Alloy nipples rather than brass as well. Never had a problem with alloy nipples. Also prolock nipples are unnecessary really if you build the wheel properly, stress relieve fully and put 1200N drive rear.

Corima's rim weights sound realistic. The last set of 24mm far eastern carbon rims I bought were 265g each.

I have more than enough wheels though

What sort of money are the Chinese imports?

Thinking of going 24mm front and 32mm rear. 2X front and either 3X/2X or 2X rear.

Campagnolo Record Hubs with CULT bearing upgrade 32H (335g Actual)
    Corima 24mm Carbon Rims 32H (270g Claimed)
    Corima 32mm Carbon Rims 32H (290g Claimed)
Sapim Laser Black Spokes (290 Actual)
    Alloy Black Nipples F & R (20g Actual)

Total estimated weight of 1185g.

Thoughts?

32h is overkill unless you're very heavy.

The front needs fewer spokes than the rear- the rear is weaker due to dish.

Already owns the hubs I think?

And almost all Record hubs are 32H only.
