I think you will find that the Zonda's and the Neutron's will be over you 1550 weight requirement.....not that Campy/Fulcrum are bad at making wheels, just bad a weighing wheels.

+1 on Zens suggestion of a custom build. You could go cheaper with Kinlin XC279/CXRay/BHS for around $500 and get just as good a wheelset, IMHO. BHS hubs are super easy to service and bearing replacement/upgrade is a snap......not to mention they are lighter!

I've built a number of XR270 + BHS wheels and prefer those quite a bit to AC350s.
My builds (20f/28r, Lasers except for the DS which are Race) come in around 1420g.

XC279s are good rims but weigh about 40g more than the XR270s.

The ride is so much better on the 279 vs the 270. The wide rim is where it is at. It overcomes the weight IMO.

If you are a light weight, you could even go xr200s. On dati hubs with cxray, you're looking at sub 1300g.

They feel the same to me. Same tires, same pressure.

:noidea: I've had both, same spokes/hubs/tires/tubes and the 279 felt better......now I ran lower pressure of course. That's the point of the wider rims after all.

Kinlin XR-200 in 24F/28R can give 1330g wheels or less for less than 400 euros but the XC-279's in 20F/24R is very tempting.

Thanks, I'm 1,93m tall and 83 kg, and understood XR-200 is not suited for > 80kg.

I would not suggest them for an 83 kg rider either but I am 82kg and have been riding a 28F/28R XR-200 wheelset built with Lasers for 3000 miles and they have been fine. So while I would not suggest it I have got away with it but I am kind to wheels.

XR 270's in 24F/28R or the wider XC-279 would be my choice. There is the XR-300 too which gets forgotten about.
Velocity A23 in 24F/28R would work too as well as the H plus Archetype.
DT Swiss RR440's are another possibility.

About 1800 grams with a 20 spoke rear? I'd pass.

Okay, i have narrowed my choices down to A23 rims or kinlins xr270.
Most likely combined with novatec hubs.
Any comments on either one? Thanks!
