I've got some Reynolds 46 UL wheels....Reynolds branded Hubs which are Autotec. I want to replace the wheel bearings.....is the process simply to take off both end caps, remove the free hub and then softly whack the axle out (one side then the other) which will then release the bearings ? Does the pre load collar need to be removed also ?

Here is the schematic

Any assistance would be appreciated.

shannon123 I used to have the 32UL's. I have used a hair dryer for about 2 minutes to heat the outer shell and everything was easy to uninstall. You do not need to uninstall the pre load collar but I did and cleaned every part before final installing. Not all bearings were worn but I have replaced them all.
Also warmed up the hub shell before installing and again all bearings were easy to install. Did cool down the axle in my fridge for a few hours before installing. All very simple.
