There seems to be a lack of tests, or discussion around the new batch of 28’s which is becoming much more popular with the advent of discs and the new rim brake frames with later direct mount brakes (9100/8000). I think this thread is also pertinent to discuss the oversized 25’s such as Conti and Vittoria.
So I’ll kick the discussion off with my experience.
700x28c GP4000Sii, 31mm wide (!) and 29mm tall. That second is a big deal, 4mm taller than the 25, on a 17c rim. Fits in the R8000 caliper but juuuuust touches the inside of the caliper when standing up and climbing. Super, super smooth on the road and easy to race on, very fast tyre. even though it looks like a monster truck tyre hahahaha!
Q: has anyone run the 28mm Rubino Pro G+?
