I want to build up a not-too-expensive CX disc tubular wheelset for this fall, and am considering one of three rims from light-bicycle.com based on good success with their rims on my mountain bike. Not looking for a deep-section rim, so I'm staying with the 24-25mm deep rims:

29er MTB tubular
320 grams
27 mm wide
24 mm deep
$162 each

Wider Road Rim
275 grams w/o brake track (290 grams with brake track)
23 mm wide
24 mm deep
$129 each

U-Shaped Road Rim
315 grams w/o brake track (330 grams with brake track)
25 mm wide
25 mm deep
$140 each

I'm likely going to go with 28H front and rear, laced 2X to DT Swiss 350 or Bitex Centerlock hubs.

For CX racing, I would suggest you consider the slightly deeper, 360g RRU35T02 disc brake road rims, but forego the decals as the ones supplied with my 46mm deep rims were not very durable:

While a slight bit more expensive per rim, you might also consider the Nox Composites 27mm deep Zolder tubular rims marketed and assembled in the US.

The MTB tubular rims maybe to wide for CX tyres. They fit 2" tyres well I have a pair but CX tyres dont sit right, I have tried.
