A better rim profile picture with what looks 3D milling, as far as I know that would be a first for standalone rims, that would bring the best stiffness / weight ratio possible!

435g with eyelets????

Mavic always underestimate 'real world' weights.

IMO they're either going to be chocolate or nearer 500g.

Let's see what the pricing and long term performance look like before we wave the Hed rims goodbye.

Mavic, rim milling, special coating, I'll estimate $180usd retail price, sell for $155.

Keep in mind that the Exalith coating on otherwise identical wheelsets costs £102.50 extra per rim on Cosmics and £82.50 per rim on Ksyriums

(Including brake pads, but stil!)

However at least with the surcahrge you are getting something different. The same cannot be said for hed rim. For that sizeable sum you get a well made rim that looks good but is not better at being a rim that much cheaper offerings.

The new open pro looks good too.

Just have to see what sort of volume adding exalith to the open pros adds to the process. It may be that it drives the cost down. (Open pro is specced on a lot of wheels)

Wouldn't be hugely surprised to see a range of rims too.

Black, silver, exalith etc

Problem is that much of the extra cost is due to the process being done outside of Mavic. So I doubt there will be much of a saving.

Ah, that makes a big difference.

Unless the added volumes gives them the option to buy their own equipment, or go to a dedicated facility/line.
