I was wondering if anyone has an input on the hubsmith HS-R020R & F hub, there aren't too many reviews on hubsmith and was wondering how they are? I going to build up a spare cx wheelset and was considering these or novatec.

I wrecked a HubSmith front and rear hub in about 3000km.

The bearing seats are very very poorly machined (either too loose, or massively tight), the bearing arrangement in the freebody was poor quality and clunky, and the overall metal work was lame.

The rear hub, the bearing seats were so poorly out of line, that the axle never turned freely, and this led to really loud creaking after a few 1000kms. The front hub, the bearings were loose, so shifted around and developed more play in them rapidly, which led to knocking when sprinting.

Not recommended by me.

Thanks, I searched and most of the reviews were 50-50 ok or really bad. Looks like I'll try to find novatec's or stick to dt 350's alittle more but aleast I know it's durable.
