Hi folks, on my Canyon Endurace, I currently have those 142x12 thru-axle on the back:

This is not an X-12 or Scott version!! And that is the limitation in choise. In the front, I have those in 12mm, with removable lever, very sleek looking:

Those exist for the back also, ( https://www.dtswiss.com/Components/RWS/Plug-In-RWS-Thru-axle-rear) but impossible to find online.

So, what are the possibilities here. If some weight can be saved, it would be great. Extralite, Carbon-TI etc are out, only X-12 or Scott spec's available

Make an Extralite clone with the correct thread machined onto the end. Your local friendly machine shop will be able to help.

Funny someone replies just today (thx by the way!). Ordered the dt swiss one at a local lbs this afternoon, will have it tomorrow if everything goes as promised. My front only weights 30gr without the lever, grosso modo the same weight as Extralite and co. I have good hope the rear only weight a few gr more, instead of 70gr. I'll post an update asap.

I finally picked up the DT thru-axle yesterday, and bummer, the plug-in rws appears to be a Scott version  : axle 1 mm longer and thread, although 1mm pitch, is 16mm long instead of 10 mm. Useless for me. Looking carefully at the pics on their site, the regular rws version seems to be identical to the one fitted on the bike, but the plug in, with removable lever, is a Scott variant. I'll see with my LBS today if there are other version of the plug in. I'll drop a ticket at Canyon also, as I've seen on some reviews Endurace bikes with no lever at the back. What i'm looking for existes, for sure, I just have to find it

Final update and happy end : the folks at Canyon assured me that the rear TA on all the Endurace bikes have a removable lever. I was not at all convinced, as I had already pulled hard on the lever a couple of times before mailng them. Back home today, first thing I did was to pull with rude force, and bingo, the lever came apart from the axle :D They warned me, the first time, it could be hard to have it apart. Now it's peace of cake, just a good pull. But the lever will continue and end its live in the tool box, I always have some allen keys with me, so no problem to unbolt the axle on the road, even without lever. FYI : lever alone is 32gr, front axle is 30gr, and 35gr for the rear.
