I bought a set of used ksyriums SL and the back wheel weighs more than it should...

The front one is supposed to weigh 690g, it weighs 687.
The back one is supposed to weigh 840g, but it weighs 895!

Maybe someone put heavier bearings? I want those 55g gone!!!

Maybe flush the grease. You don't need that.

It was a joke. Flush the grease inside the bearings.......dont do it. :o :)

Maybe the weights you quoted are for the Campagnolo type freehub. And your wheels are Shimano type freehub? In this case they often weigh more because there is extra material in the freehub body.

You could try changing the bearings but it's really not worth hassle if the current ones are working fine. I very much doubt you could loose 55grams with different bearings anyway.

Who says they should be lighter? The manufacturer?

Then the reason they are heavier is that the manufacturer is lying.

Haha.. Ok, probably the manufacturer lied... Well.. nevermind, I'll just piss before I ride, or maybe wear really old wafer thin tires...

SL1 got it. The quoted weight is with an aluminum Campy compatible freehub body. You have the Shimano freehub body which is steel. Mavic doesn't think aluminum is a good idea with the Shimano style low profile splines.
