I've worn out the rear rim on my 7850s and was wondering if I could use a Pacenti SL23 20 hole rim? I'll likely need new straight pull spokes, but any issues running this rim 20 hole as a rear wheel? 140lb rider.

Most of the wheelbuilder put max recommended user weight of about 165 pounds for a 24 holes rear pacenti sl23v2 rim. So maybe you are ok with your 140 pounds, but personnaly i would not do that.

I will take a rim like the kinlin XR31T, or maybe the xr-380. These a heavier but stronger rims.

Interesting project. The question is though, do you want to have matching front and rear? Eventually you'd want to relace the front as well. And the Pacentis don't come in 16h for the front.

The kinlin XR31T come in 16h too, so that might be the ticket! Thanks all!

Kilnin XR380 will be ok on 20h rear - for 70kg racer on novatec hubs it was not a problem
