Hello, just out of curiosity I wonder if anyone knows what this little hole above the valve stem is on the rear rim of my DT Swiss Mon Chasseral carbon wheels??
It's only on one side and not on the front rim? Is it just a manufacturing thing to identify the rear wheel perhaps?

You can drill one in the front if matching is important to you.

I am wondering it is a weep hole to allow off-gassing for tubeless sealants that contain ammonia. Seems awfully close to the upper cavity where the tire mounts and the area below with the spoke nipples.

I just went to the DT Swiss website - seems that hole is on the photos of some of their carbon road wheels.... I think you're safe.

I have this hole on my DT RRC65T, I think it's a drain hole as the spokes pass through the carbon and have an internal nipple so a small amount of water can get between the spoke and hole where it passes into the rim.

That really does make the most sense.. I'm just curious as to why only the back not the front? Less spoke holes on the front? maybe to ID the rear rim easily when manufacturing?
