Pacenti SL23 is leaving but is being replaced
Moderator: robbosmans
Sorry! It was something I knew about for a while now, but people were kindly asked to keep this information to themselves. This is typical in any industry. First off, it's difficult to forecast when actual production runs will be delivered (always delays). You also don't want to announce it too soon only to find an issue with pre production samples (see below) and have to stop production on them. I've had rims on the road since July. Since then I've ridden several centuries on them, ridden them off road, and generally did my best to knock them around. They have been flawless. I'm very happy with the rims and they are definitely a step up from the previous generation. Production has moved to a more reliable source that makes rims for a lot of companies (not Sun like before and not Kinlin before someone tries to guess). If Pacenti chooses to share more information I'll be happy to elaborate.

My understanding is the new rim is more like the V1 in weight so it will be stiffer. Thicker and deeper brake track and no plate to rattle loose.
Ergot you have record pedals. They are my favourite. Why did campag have to stop making them.

Did they? Most recent pair I bought was in 2015.

No word yet. I image that updates to all the rims will eventually roll out since production moved. That doesn't mean there will be a solid timeline for the reasons I mentioned above.
Seeing how the SL25 has been great by all accounts I think the design/specs won't be changed much if at all.
My Ergott-built SL25s have been flawless, as have my Ergott-built V1 SL23s as have my Southern Wheelworks-built V2 SL23s. I've been an advocate of offset rims for pretty much ever, or at least since I first used Velocity Aerohead asymmetric rims.
I'm really looking forward to getting some of these Forza rims. No timeline as yet as the budget took a big hit for 2016, but hopefully before next season.
Now the big question: White Industries or Alchemy.......... Decisions, decisions....

The Alchemy design *seems* to currently be in use by Wheels Manufacturing or are you aware if the Elf & Orc-UL are back in production by Alchemy?
Cheers,
D.
Wheels Manufacturing took over production of the Alchemy hubs.

Yes ergott the record pedals have come of the price list of the all the main u.k distributors bar one. They bought all the sets they could. I will keep buying them until they sell out. Campag will probably release a few more in time. They do that from time to time but only a limited run. They did it with silver centaur hubs in 36H drilling and centaur 10 speed silver mechs e.t.c
The SL25 is being replaced I believe at the same time as the SL23. there is an offset version due.
