It turns out the Campy Boras are actually quite aero (Tour Magazine latest aero hoops test)

The latest Tour mag put up a new aero wheels test where they also measure the effect of crosswind / high yaw angle wind and how they affect steering. Quite surprising result (you should buy, worth it).
The Boras (circa 2015 and onward) ace the test with very good aerodynamic property as well as good balance between acceleration, handling and mechanical components like hub construction and rim siffness. Competition includes wheels from DT Swiss, top end Mavic and Shimano Dura-Ace, with Zipp as a reference wheels.

How did they perform the alpine brake torture test? Did they test both tubular and clincher versions? I wonder what kind of temperatures these carbon wheels can withstand.

It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.
The test only features carbon clinchers. Reynolds Aero and DT Swiss didn't withstand brake test. They delaminated and melted. Zipp, according to Tour has the best braking surface almost similar to aluminum in dry. No deformation with heat. Campy wheels while didn't have Zipp's braking performance, withstand the heat better than most rim. No effect at all (from their brake track test last year).
Reynolds Aero 58, however is a crosswind wonder. It was the least affected (minimal counter-steer force needed) in cross wind, almost on par with Mavic Ksyrium low profile wheels! It seems Paul Lew knew what he was talking about in his whitepaper where he claimed Reynolds Aero design is low drag and low lift, in contrast to most modern torodial shape.

This test starts to confirm my own positive feelings about my Bora One 50s. They do seem fast at high speeds, and are definitely surprisingly stable in cross-winds. They are also super stiff, especially in the rear. I flex most wheels, but not these. I'm starting to think that triplet lacing is superior on rear wheels. The top two stiffest wheels I have ever used are both triplets.

A UCI WT team is using Enves .. He'll just used them in the Alps and Pyrenees ... Maybe the brake test is more brutal?

the new dt 65, rc 28 passed the test. the rc38 failed(dt stated they will update 2017 version)
RESPECT to dt they did not whine/complain the tour test was unreasonable. they went back did
their homework and came out with a safer product.
i would not buy any product that can not pass this test. manufacturers have no excuses. zipp has had this tech in
production for over 4 years. reynolds shame.
btw the bora stiffness test results vs zipp
55/47 (front/rear) bora
55/39 zipp 303
51/38 zipp 404
btw the zipps are considerable heavier then bora's.
enve on the protour are tubulars .. big difference.
