I bought mine about the same time that you did, same hubs and same wheels. When I bought mine I took them apart to inspect them as a new buyer buying direct I was unsure about what I could not see. I reported here, totally dry bearings which I of course corrected. I cleaned out all the clear Vaseline type grease from the free hub and went the non grease route, Demunde (sp?) Free hub oil. I felt with all those little pawls in there I was worried that grease may make them sticky and not engaging. I know that most use grease; however I have from a few sources that oil is a better option. In the past I have a few pawls slip and nothing sounds and feels that bad when hammering.
I have about 8k on one set and 3 k on another set, both using the same free hub oil. I do service them once a year; just to make sure that I know how things look inside for the most part. Not really used in the rain, I have others for the wet in Oregon
Let's finish the ride with a 20% grade.
