I'd expect the hed rim to be a massive improvement over the mavic. A 10 second Google shows that it's not far off twice the price.bm0p700f wrote:Why are you thinking about mavic rims. the best tubular rim is the HED belgium C2 tubular. Stiff wide and quite light. Lower drillings too. The set I have are one of my favourite wheels.

HED C2 tubulars are available in 32H drilling. Worth the money, it actually is worth the money unlike the clincher version which you buy inspite of equally good cheaper alternatives because it looks so damm good.
If I have to buy HED's it cost me twice as much as Nemesis... Or at same price I can have 24mm carbon ( farsports ) rims.

I have nemesis/dura ace wheelet 32f 36r and a 28f/28r hed c2 tubular on record hubs with cx rays. I know which i prefer no prizes for guessing.
Going with carbon tubulars is fine but you creating something very different.

The hed rims of course. Since i posted this i have got my ands on he kinlin tb20 rims. Just like the hed rim for weight and profile without the good looks but 25% of the price. Of course i use these when the heds wear out. Nemesis rims are good but the wheels are heavier.
Got a pair of velocity escapes to try when i get round to building them.
I go with thd rational stiffer wheels are generally better wheels which means the hed or thr cheaper kinlins.
