Hey guys, as the title says - anyone have experience with de stickering a Reynolds Assault (new 25mm wide 41mm tall version, tubular if it matters)??

I was hoping that the stickers would just peel off, but it seems they are under clear coat?

They are printed. Not even decals.

I removed decals under clear coat a few years ago. What a hassle. Sand paper etc...to get through the clear coat and onto the decal. But, the decals were kind of embedded into the carbon itself...at times I had some raw carbon coming up off while sanding, just a few times that happened. Once all done and removed...then sprayed the wheels with matte black clear coat, several coats. Then wet sanded to smooth it out.

What a hassle to say the least...never doing that again.

I agree with Zigmeister, it is a lot of hassle, the result is good though although its a slow slow process. lots of posts on how to do it on this site.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I decided to go the lazy route and picked up some decals off of ebay. Stick em on the rear wheel and call it a day.

If I should not like the look of it (luckily these are some fairly subdued decals / graphics) then I know where to go to sand and get rid of the ones under the clear coat on the front wheel.

Cheers
