How true is true
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi, just got a pair of China wheels and as I was checking their trueness I realised that I have no idea how true they should be. Can you take a look at my videos below and estimate if it's bad or OK.

https://youtu.be/8gFR8JhhxR4 - rear radial
https://youtu.be/vM0amGGpuGQ - rear lateral right, horribly filmed
https://youtu.be/KQYTu-T7jRU - rear lateral left.
What do you think?

bm0p700f, I'm guessing you didn't click on the video links.
Just clicked on the 1st video, the tire isn't seated properly or has a hop, can be seen if you look at the sidewall near the brake track.

I've seen very expensive wheels (new) worse than this.
Bikes:
Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)
Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

I've seen way cheaper and perfectly true out from the box... . Those are not. Should see someone who will equalize tension and true it.

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that

Good observation. The rim may not be out of true radially, as the tire is not centered correctly.
I made the mistake myself not to have my cheap carbons trued up first, then mount a tire. Well next time.
