Thanks for the answers. In one review about quattros was written "semi-round shape".
So, about aero advantage...in my opinion, these are significant at higher speed ( 35-40kph+ ), on descent, or in the ride with the headwind.
Now, I have a two choices:
1) FR quattro carbon disc
2) built - Nextie 45mm clincher + DT 350 SP + DT aerolite
Very impressive is wheelset Dt swiss ERC 1400 DB 47, but too expensive.

Thanks. And last about crosswind: Can you compare these 40mm quattros with some low rim ? Is quattros distinctly worse than low section wheels? I only have experience with 24-30mm rim depth ( Fulcrum racing 3 and Zeros ).

These are only a touch more noticeable than some 20-30mm alloy wheels. In some heavy crosswinds, you’re still ok. I’ve ridden some 40-50mm wheels that are horrific. These are a great compromise.

I've hot some Speed 40 clinchers (I don't think the profile is that different) and reckon they handle the wind better than my Racing Zeros..could well be down to the narrower spokes but I really don't find sidewinds an issue on the Speed 40s.

I have used them for one season and is also very pleased with them. Mine were also under claimed weight but can't recall exact weight. Pretty sure under 1500 gram.

Are you using 25mm tires in your foil? How's the clearance? Cheers

the fulcrum 40 mm rim shape was tested be less than 1 watt penalty vs zipp 303. fulcrum announced a new 55 for 2018.
btw you can not go wrong with fulcrum/campy wheelsets. build quality/durability vastly superior than enve/zipp/

I just received my quattro carbons today. Reading the previous posts there seems to be an issue with the performance of its hub. Is the hub the issue? the bearings? or the freehub? Should i just replace the whole hub or just the bearings?

The hubs are ok but they have more friction than the superior cup and cones bearings found on the higher end Fulcrum and Campy wheels. You can just replace the sealed bearings but make sure if speed is your priority that you get bearings with low seal drag, or bearings with non-contact seals. I have both the Quattros and the Campy Boras. There’s no comparison between the two. The Boras are faster due to their lower friction bearings.

Thanks a lot. Any brand of high quality bearings you have in mind? I'll have my LBS service it for me.

I think you meant high quality and not low quality bearings. There’s a separate thread on bearings titled SKF vs NTN bearings. I suggest NTN bearings with LLB seals. You don’t need to replace them when they are new. Just wait until they wear out. Usually the freehub bearings go out first (not sure why).

The freehub takes two 6803s bearings. Then two 6903s for the front and two 6903s for the rear. So six bearings total.

By the way I’ve decided to sell my Quattros and replace them with Fulcrum Speed 40s that use cup and cone bearings for reduced friction. The Quattros are nice for the price though....

Oh my bad for the typo. I'll keep them in mind. You've been a big help. Thanks a lot

For now quattros is the max my budget can handle. Maybe i'll be able to upgrade somewhere down the line or just put in new hubs if that will be a cheaper option on my LBS

Does anyone have any info on the above Quattro logo update?

We're well in to 2018 now and I only see the previous 2017 version looking at Fulcrum's website and various online stores.

A set just arrived - quickly weighed them - coming in at 1490g for the set - not bad at all.

Quality seems top notch - the new brake surface is really nice too - feels like a much higher quality wheel than the €850 I gave for the set!

Hi all, just wondering if any one here tried Zipp 302 and how they compared to the Quattro?

In the UK they are within comparable price range.
Im looking for disc brakes so not too bother by brake track performance. Thx
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

So after some extended use of these wheels by some of you, all users still satisfied about the Quattro Carbon's ?

Especially the durability is interesting, like the wearing of the brake track...
