There will be a race coming up the hill. You are unlikely to be allowed to ride back down. And if it's a proper hillclimb, the chances of topping 40kmh going down the hill are pretty remote........

Just bought some stuff mentioned in this thread. Actual weights below.

GP Supersonic: 128g!
GP Supersonic: 141g?!
Veloflex Record 22: 149g
Veloflex Record 22: 148g
Ultremo ZLX: 185g
Ultremo ZLX: 175g
Supersonic Butyl Tube: 52g
Supersonic Butyl Tube: 52g
Supersonic Butyl Tube: 50g
Supersonic Butyl Tube: 54g

Interesting variations. Double-checked the scales etc.

Also, I screwed up the installation of one of those 52g tubes and punctured it. Decided to patch it with as small a patch as possible. Result was only 55g so still pretty good.

Thanks, good info!

Vredestein Latex (not sure if they've been mentioned) are consistently under 50g and roll even better than butyl.

So I ended up ordering Conti Supersonic and supersonic tubes. I have to admit am a bit worried of puncturing the tubes and wondering if it is worth even for a short hilclimb or TT. Thanks for all replys.

I didn't find superlight tubes to puncture easier once they're mounted...
