I see that Zipp have just announced their new 2016 Firecrest Range of wheels with yet another new set of hubs. Their weights have increased again, as they did the year before. Has anyone got any thoughts on the new hubs and the increasing weight of Zipp wheels in general? I would have thought with Bontrager managing to shave weight from their Aeolus wheels that Zipp would have been looking to reduce weight!

It looks like they're using heavier spokes. They are slightly heavier but significantly cheaper at $2k US retail. Not a bad tradeoff IMO.

Per BikeRadar spokes are CX-sprints and Cx-Rays for 202 tubs. I think they will hopefully have addressed some less than stellar hub design of the past. If they succeeded in a decent hub they will be a killer wheelset and at a more reasonable price.
