It has a lot to do with how stiff the wheel is as well. A technical descent for example, a flexes is much harder to hold the ideal line on than a wheel that let's you track perfectly with zero flex. Another type of traction would be in hard accelerations. A wheel that is stiff enough not to flex, but not so stiff that is starts to bounce will yield higher traction hence better torque transfer. This is also why I feel the Bora's are superior on rough surface. The Zipp 404's always felt like I was pushed around when I hit rougher roads, but the Bora's keeps the line no matter what.

Not that the 404's are bad wheels… just I think the Bora's are slightly better.


Sure, stiffness is a major component... I guess my test wasn't long enough for me to appreciate how much stiffer my Bora are.

Thanks for your input though. Now need to decide do I party with the cash
