Hi all,
Looking for new road bike wheels. Very interested in the FLO 30 http://www.flocycling.com/wheels_front_flo_30.php
However, one can never be sure of getting them in one of FLO's pre-sales.
The alternative is the Zipp 30. I have found them for $600, vs $450 for the FLO 30s. But I can buy them today.. Instead of having to wait for weeks only to find out that I didn't make the cut for the FLO's..
I wasn't able to find much on the Zipp 30s, or a comparison between the two.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Between the two, I would go with the FLO's. They are aprox the same weight. But the FLO's are much wider with 25,92 mm width, Zipps are 21,4 mm. The FLO's will most likely be way more aero. I have no experience with the Zipps.
I've had som problems with tire mounting and dismounting on FLO's, but I don't think you'll experience that with factory build FLO's. I only bought rims, and build the wheels myself.
Zipps are more expensive, as you mention. If you're in US I'd deff. take the FLO's, hence no import duties and taxes.

I discovered cracks around 2 nipples on my rear last week. 28spoke 3/2cross
Pretty dissapointed.
I'd say that either your proff. wheelbuilder did it wrong, or and most likely you just got a bad rim. Haven't heard or read about any similar issues. Just send them pictures and ask them for a new rim.

Don't get the zip rim just buy the kinlin xr31t or what ever bus are calling it these days. Nearly as wide as the floor not quite as aero but close. You could get the light pacenti sl25. Save your money the zip rim is not that great.

Just to update this, I ended up buying the FLO rims and am having them built with CX-Rays and DT Swiss 350 straight pull hubs.
Will report on wheels when I have them. Customer service experience with FLO has been great.

Thanks for the kind words. Please make sure you follow the advice in our Owner's Manual for max spoke tensions. A lot of builders go way too high. We also recommend washers.
