I'm in the process of gluing a new tubular onto a Zipp 303 wheel. Tonight I applied some leftover Continental aluminum glue (the stuff in the orange tube) to the base tape of the tire. Then I realized "Wait, I'm gluing this onto a carbon rim!"

Tomorrow I'm going to head to the LBS to get some Conti carbon glue (the stuff in the black tube) to put on the wheel.

Is it safe to mix different types of Conti glue like this? Will the tire still bond to the rim? Or should I apply a layer of carbon glue to the base tape just to be sure?

I don't particularly think it will be 'unsafe', but it will certainly not be optimal. formulation will be different for the two glues meaning the bond will not be as strong.
