Hi
I plan to ride the Paris Roubaix sportive and wanted to change the tyre size on my bike, I currently run 23c Schwalbe Ones (clincher) and like the tyre, the frame is a 54cm 2014 Evo Hi-Mod.
I do not have any other sized tyres to try, hence the question. would like to go as big as possible to reduce the risk of puncturing - was hoping for around a 27c. has anyone tried this?
thanks
david

FYI I am running DA9000 brake callipers if that gives you more info
I've got Continental Competitions 25c tubulars that seem like 26-27c when fully inflated. There's still plenty of clearance left. Depending on which tire you have, sometimes they inflate to a bigger size than what's written on the box. Michelin Pro4 clinchers I used to run on 23c inflated to like 24.5c. I'm on Ultegra 6800 calipers.

I am using the shimano RS81 C24 wheelset. Which tyres tend to come up close to the advertised width? I've only used schwalbe and continental 23's in the past but have never measured them as I hadn't considered trying any larger
I wouldn't risk going past 25mm on my Hi-Mod... try borrowing a friends set of 27s and see what happens, it might work.

Bm0p700f, are these what you ran at the Paris roubaix sportive? What you currently run on your evo? How much space do you think you have to play with?

Think I should be able to run a 27 on the font but only a 25 on the rear, has anyone tried this? Would it work well?

I have not done The PR yet, I am doing it this year. Did TOF/RVV last year on 27mm paves which are 25.5mm inflated.
I do not run a Cannondale because of the clearance issue, silly BB30 and I have enough bikes (sorry for swearing). Given how I felt on the small cobbles of the RVV I would not even dream of riding PR on Pave's, well I would but I would have to toughen up a lot. so I am going for 30mm Challange strada'ss instead in a Genesis Equilibrium disc frame instead. The one thing I have noticed about Conti comps i they are fine tyre but not as confortable as the Pave's.
My post was because you claimed that conti comps are 26/27mm wide and they are not!

Aside from clearance issues, I've found that on standard width (clincher) rims anything past about 27mm actual handles like crap, and of course is less secure.
If you don't have wide rims, then I'd go with something like 25mm GP4000 SII or 25mm Michelin ProRace series with added puncture protection. Michelin run wide - I have measured the 25mm at 26.5mm
Ideally ride tubs and put on something like the 27mm Paves

Ok, has anyone run the 27c paves on an Evo? do these tend to fit ok?
I've heard the Michelin Pro4 could be a good option but the 25c can come up as big as 28.5mm, anyone else had these tyres measure up to this size?

I rode this in 2014 with Conti 4000S 700x25 with 85-90psi. Had zero flats and I rode Flanders before Roubaix.
Was riding a CAAD which is similar to the EVO, so assuming they fit.
Good luck to on the ride hope you have a great day, because I didn't .
