Anyone have experience with this wheelset, it comes on some of the 2015 Propels...

Are the re-badges?
How is the braking surface performance?
Can you run latex tubes?

I have this wheelset on my 2015 Propel Advanced Pro 1, and they are my first carbon clincher. I only have about 175 miles on them so far, but they are great. The claimed weight is 1540g and mine came in at 1536g without rimtape.

As far as I can tell, they are not re-badges of any other wheels. And the braking performance is great so far (45mph descents). I am using the Giant supplied pads and my Propel has the newly revised proprietary TRP brakes.

As for the latex tubes, I am not sure. I am running ultra light Giant tubes in them so far with no issue. You do get supplied with tubeless valves in case you want to convert to tubeless on this wheelset as it is tubeless compatible.

They are DT Swiss designed for Giant. They have good reviews too.

I'm curious about the rim width, could you take a look Robert?

Thanks for the review robertg. I'll probably go to tubeless instead of latex tubes anyway.

Here's a review. :)

Googling around on these wheels says they have DT Swiss hubs and are built by DT. The design is probably a collab between them.

I'm hoping to find a set in the bargains, I'd like to try them. :)

You're right Bungis, my bad.

Only the rim seems to be different on first sight so my best guess it's a rebadged high-end DT Swiss wheel.

Alright, I measured the rims and they are 23mm wide at the brake track.

Also, regarding the carbon/aluminum P-SLR1 Aero's, the previous generation were nicer, in my opinion. The latest generation does have a wider 23mm rim, but the carbon is only a fairing now and the weight is just a hair under 1800g. I owned the previous generation, and while they were 21mm wide, the carbon was structural, and they weighed in sub 1600g.

Impressive OEM wheelset for a mid priced bike, especially if you get the original type.

Thanks, could you measure the max width as well?

The max width is 23mm. It's pretty much a u shape.

To answer my own question, the Giant manual that came with my P-SLR0 wheels said not to use latex tubes due to heat. I'll scan it and share when I'm able to...
