I'm in Bordentown, so pretty far south for you. Up your way, I can vouch for John Nicholson now at cycle craft or Jim Vreeland at hilltop. Two guys I would not hesitate to have build me wheels or work or my bike.

+1 for Hilltop best service around, however their best wheelbuilder there just left for an engineering position. They have hired the head mechanic from high gear though so I'm sure he is capable

While it's true that Chris accepted an engineering position, he will still be an active part of the shop and will still build wheels. Also, both Sam and Jim are very skilled builders as well.

I agree he will be active, but it will take a few weeks for him to settle down. So if it is a time crunch, I'm not sure he can do them. I still would say go to hilltop without hesitation. Just keep in mind it will take a lot to fill his shoes since they are transitioning and what may have taken a day or two to do may take a bit longer. They are the best around and you will get quality. I've been riding with them quite a bit lately and all the guys are great.
