I am building a tandem bike up with a moderate budget (LOL) and I want to use some carbon clinchers with a disc specific hub.

I am planning to use something like this for a rim: (25mm width, 50mm deep carbon clincher)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/25mm-width-50mm ... 233a4819d3

I will likely use BHS MTB hubs with sapim race spokes unless someone has some other suggestions for a moderate budget.

Question is what spoke count would be a good idea with me at 200lbs and say 150lbs stoker?

Thanks,
Matt

Can't help with the spoke count, but would recommend to check the weight limit with the manufacturer. If they cannot give any (different from "none and approved for tandem use") then that's probably not a good sign.

Trying to find a tandem rating on any component is difficult. On my tandem [180lb captain/180lb stoker] I had 24F 28R with aluminum 30mm rims.

Sorry, not much help.

Thanks.

@butcher, what hubs and spokes are you using?

I assume you haven't had any issues with your wheels?
