I have a low mileage H3 hub that I need to convert to 11 speed. The conversion kit is $200. That's not much cheaper than a new hub.

Is it worth converting, or should I just bite the bullet and get a T11 hub? Is the geometry better on the T11 than the converted H3?

The converted H3 would have a pretty extreme tension balance, but it might be fine depending on your build. They reduced the flange spacing on the T11.

I'm surprised it is $200... where did you get that price?

It's actually $202, I got the pricing from Lynette at White Industries.

That's the MSRP I guess. Relying on my poor memory, I thought conversions for Campy vs Shimano were much less.

It's not a sanctioned fix, but I've added two additional thrust washers between the hub shell bearing and the freehub body bearing. This gives you just enough room so the 11 speed cassette clears. The o-ring does sit out a little more and might not seal well as a the correct axle kit. It's a cheap fix and worth a try if you already have the wheel. Just ask for the washers instead. You won't have to center the rim so the flange geometry is actually very good.

I also pulled the triger on an H3 rear, couldn't pass up this deal under $100. BN !!!

I also asked the same question a week ago, same answer from Lynette.

I'm running 10S for now but was thinking of a possible conversion in the future...

Thanks for the tip Ergott.

Louis :)

Didn't know that! So no problem fitting the 11spd and tightening it down? How about the axle length? Did you try Shimano and Sram?

I'm showing my age and dating myself here. That was the fix to go Campagnolo 11 on H2 hubs. Sorry, carry on.
