Looking for a new, do-it-all wheel for all types of courses & conditions. Love the idea of supporting Mavic, as they're so supportive of the US amateur race scene. I realize these are not wide rim tech, although I do think its a bigger factor (at least in terms of subjective feel) with clinchers. I also realize they're way expensive, but I'm cool with that. Finally, I realize there are better tires, which I would use.

If you've ridden these, I'd love your comments, especially regarding stiffness & acceleration. Are they still as good as it gets, or are they a bit overdue for a major update? Thanks.

Have you looked at the CXR60C wheels? I just got a set for my do-it-all wheels and I love them.

Thanks, they're gorgeous, but I'm not interested in the 60s. I think the aluminum rim/braking thing is a solution looking for a problem. I don't want to be tied to Mavic tires or 23s at all, really, and I have no qualms with the carbon wheels I've owned (Zipps & Enves) and braking.

Having ridden/owned a decent range of carbon clinchers, including Enve 3.4, 404, Gen III LWs, Roval, etc and the owner of 2013 Cosmic Carbone SLR's I disagree.

And is why I still own the SLR's and none of the others.

You aren't tied to mavic tires, I'm using gp4000s tires and the fit is awesome.

Good luck with your wheel search.

Yes, and it maintains the aero shape/smooth transition.
