Help me name my 'Italian' frame brand!
Moderators: robbosmans, Moderator Team
Hi Guys,
I am in the process of setting up my own frame brand. The frames will be mainly carbon and completely hand-made in Italy. The plan is to have stock frame sizes and a custom made to measure option for around $150.00 more.
I can't decide on a name for the brand. For obvious reasons I thought of "MAMBO" but a couple of friends think that because they are made in Italy I should go with an Italian sounding name.
An option I thought of along those lines might be "MARTELLO", which means hammer in Italian.
What do you guys think?
Any suggestions would be welcome!

You will need a website, therefor it makes sense to collect a few ideas and then doing a domain name research with these names. Most of your ideas will be used or blocked names.
How about Pompino?
Means, erm, pump. or not.

What country will your business and majority of your sales be in?
There are so many companies out there who get frames made in Taiwan/China then try to sound cool by having an Italian brand name.
While I'll give you some credit for having Italian made frames, if you are not an Italian company you risk looking like another poser stick brand.
Give each model an Italian name for each one that IS made is Italy (name of the city the frames are made in, biggest hill in the local area etc), but please don't be a sheep and give your American(?) company a fake Italian name

Hi Guys thanks for all the input.
I am swaying towards Italian model names but not necessarily an Italian brand name.
We'll see....
Don't know why this got put into the wheels section though?

Frame geometries - no info… I know it's "custom" but … fully ? chainstay length, HT angle ( CX frame seems to be very steep ( I mean really steep ) from images , HT length…
2nd thing are … prices. Well, it has to be really good stuff to price it ( some of it ) on/ close to the level of LOOK and way above f.e. BH.
From your webpage I don't see any reason to buy TT frame from you, and not BH Aero …. or BMC. Or basically anything exc highest priced Pinarello, Sworks or Colnago
Limtiting warranty for fork to 2y only ?
Web design : content ( vide "warranty" ) is not visible - caused by "background" . Same with menu on some pages.
Zero info about technology : fibers, molding, where is made, how it's made.
Perhaps you do nice gear, but your site completely do not convince me to that. It doesn't make me "hungry"
