I'm not about to pull the trigger on a new wheelset, but I'm considering the Hed Ardennes Plus SL ... does anyone have any experience with these wheels? Thoughts? I've read a couple of reviews, but actual experience would be great.

I'm considering the Ardennes plus, custom wheels (Pacenti sl23 rims, good hubs & spokes), or maybe go cheap, heavy and aero and get something like the Flo 30s.

I'd like to try wide wheels with the option to go tubeless.

Thanks

I think for the dollar for performance I would get Pacenti SL23's (weight) or Flo 30's (aero). The Hed's are nice and will be a great wheelset but I think their price is little high for what they offer.

It's hard to beat Flo's for a prebuilt wheelset (cx ray spokes, wide, aero, decent hubs, and cheap).

For a little more money than the Flo's and less than the Hed's you could lace some Pacenti rims to a nice hub set (T11, Chris King, etc...) with cx-ray spokes.

The Ardenne + wheel set is one of the nicer factory clinchers out there.
I rate em very highly
Custom is also a good idea in that price range

Had my PowerTap hub re-laced to a Hed Belgium Plus rim. DT Swiss 240s and Belgium Plus for the front.

Noticeably stiffer than the Velocity A23s they replaced.
