is there any general rule on how long lw wheels last?

i'm thinking specifically about brake tracks, i know lw say they can often be resurfaced, but as i often spend descents pulsing the brakes in a queue of traffic, i got to wondering...

assuming no unusual contamination, how may sets of lw pads can you expect to get through before the brake tracks get worn down to the indicator?

Good question. I have had a set of Gen II's since 2007 and have gone through 5 or 6 front sets of pads for them. They still do not show any sign of wear at all. I have a set of kevlar brake track ADA's from 2003 and have not been able to mark those brake tracks, either.

Soft pads make rims last longer so use those. I have put 3000 or so miles on my XR-200's and no significant rim wear is evident yet.
