Ive a question about these. In the pack, as well as the aluminum outer, assorted end pieces and the DLC steel cables, is long length of small diameter rubber or plastic tube - whats it for? Its not the lining (which is incorporated inside the aluminum ferrules) and the somewhat unhelpful text and diagram shows it being put after a section of the outer, almost as if its a covering for the cables on the part where they would normally be exposed. For an internal cable run am I supposed to try and feed that AND the cable into the down-tube?

It's supposed to be used for the exposed portions of the cable. With internal wiring, you shouldn't have much use for that black plastic liner.

I used it to run my rear internally routed brake cable. Smoothed things nicely.

If I have external routing that go from the front cable stops to the plastic cable guides at the bottom bracket I wouldnt have a need for this plastic tubing correct?

Or should it be run up to the point where the cables enter the cable guides at the bottom bracket?
