Hope seatpost slipping

Hi all -

Struggling a bit with my Hope carbon post. Mine is consistently slipping, despite using carbon paste and the max. recommended torque. An old alloy one is much better, so what I'm trying to work out is whether the Hope undersized, or simply the carbon isn't gripping properly. Does anyone have any experience with Hope posts?
