Short back story, I bought a ziplock bag of these from a seller on Ebay Germany as Sapim Polyax, and they are clearly not so i asked him what brand they are, and he won´t tell me! Anyone know?

they pretty smart designed so you can use them as both internal and normal nipples.

Nope, not CN. They are Pillar nipples as was used on the American Classic wheelsets.

I rated them, as they were a good bit of kit for building high tension wheels.

I have read that spokes have to be 1 or 2 mm longer with these nipples as with Sapim Polyax. Does anyone know wether this is correct?

Mackers, you are right, they look more like CN-Spoke ACC144 nipple.

No need in my experience, on the other hand I always go up in length be course I always use spoke washers.

if they run smooth on new spokes they are ok.
If they stuck on spoke - so small surface quickly break - not recomemned them. Better with HEXagonal head Sapim

They need longer spokes (add 2mm)

Both CN and Pillar make this kind of nipples, licensed by American Classic.

CN's part no. is ACC144, Pillar's is DSN.

I like this design and use them on most of the wheels I've built. The spokes thread deeper into the nipples, eliminating the likelihood of aluminum nipples snapping around the necks. The nipples can be turned on both ends, and it's easier to tighten with a T-shaped 3.23mm spoke wrench from the side of rim bed.

Moreover, the spoke length doesn't have to be very precise, just add 1-2mm to the results from spoke length calculators when using these nipples.

These nips are half the price of the usual hex head, but I'm having trouble finding a tool to fit on my drill that will drive these. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Ok, what I did was buy a Park SW-16, cut the shank, grind flats, and stick it in my drill.
