Winiums look good for a carbon rim. I wonder about an alloy tubular in the Flo shape. Looks like the closest right now is the Hed C2, which is hard to find as a bare rim. Anything else in alloy tubular at the 23 wide range?

Got the profiles for the 23mm wide Yoleo 38mm and 50mm carbon tubulars;the 50 is the exact same graphic as that on the Focus Carbon site http://www.focus-carbon.com/ProductShow.asp?id=559" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;; it's probably the same as the Farsports as well although they don't have a cross section graphic. I don't see anyone else (yet) with a 23x38 rimm.

Also looks like none of the 23mm wide carbon rims come with basalt brake tracks.

The basalt brake tracks is not needed when you use quality resin and layups like Zipp/Enve etc use. Basalt is an attempt to sell more rims by the Chinese wholesellers after people started melting rims.

From your post it sounded like you were asking about carbon tubular. The Major Tom cyclocross tubular (Boyd uses this for his black and tan wheelset) is essentially the 23mm width alloy tubular but not as deep and aero. Similar profile to the Hed C2 but not as rounded. The Hed C2 tubular is available as rim only here http://www.glorycycles.com/hedbec2turim ... nAodiFYA6g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yep... but I hear rumors of a lighter rim with a similar profile being available soon.

Do tell... is it going to be made by Kinlin? and by Similar profile, do you know the exact profile?

Not Kinlin. I think it is 24mm wide and 27mm deep... nicely rounded.

sounds the goods, can you tell us who is making/developing this?

No... I'm sure you will hear about it when availability is imminent. It's up to the guys involved to talk about it (or not) as they see fit.

Neuvation now has a wide wheel, 22mm, that's listed as both 24 and 26mms deep on their site? Claimed weight for the rim is 440gms.

Thank you for the mention. We are very excited about this new wheel. We are still waiting for final rim weights but we are doing what we can to keep it as low as possible. If anyone has any further questions about the wheel please feel free to ask me.

Take care,

Chris,

Any chance you could compare the CFD drag data between the new 30 shape and the 60(assuming the parameters allow for such comparison)? I'd be curious to know how they stack up.

Not yet. Not on a thread about some else's wheels. 8)

Unfortunately, the parameters changed with the FLO 30 design. We actually tightened up the mesh to get a more accurate readings and comparing the FLO 60 side by side wouldn't be accurate.

Have you seen our write up http://flocycling.blogspot.com/2012/10/flo-cycling-flo-30-previously-flo.html?m=1

I did, and seeing the slightly negative numbers made me think to myself, "the 60/90 showed negative numbers I wonder if I could see the 60/90 CFD data and then see how much slower this wheel will be." Obviously spokes and a hub will change things but, made me wonder.

Also, Chris, what is the inside to inside width of your rims if I may ask?

You're right adding spokes and hubs will change a lot but the pattern you see with the rim alone is pretty telling.

When you say "inside to inside width of your rims" what exactly do you mean? The inside of the clincher?

Perfect! Thank you. In that case the inner rim width is 19.35mm.
