On Aliexpress (search for 'dimple rim') braking seems to be the same as the real Zipp, both in wet and dry, however since I'm in the Netherlands the longest descent I've done on them is down a tall bridge

What's the current recommendation for a 25mm x 38mm clincher disc wheelset? I'm hoping to keep it under 1500g and maybe $500 or less, if possible.

Looks like a good alternative for disc brake use being asymmetric. Any thoughts?

Then there is the question of whether to buy rims only and get build up on DT 240 here in the UK, or get the chinese wheel builder to do it.

I would only buy from chinese venders with good reputation. Farsports and Light Bicycle and maybe a couple others.

Both of those Carbonal rim options are only 25mm wide. That is an optimal width for 23mm tyres. Given you have discs, you should take advantage of the clearance and run the widest tyres your frame can manage for lower rolling resistance, and smoother ride. SO I'd recommend a rim which can better support a wider tyre, and provide a better aero transition from tyre to rim. Both are only 25mm wide, so they are aero optimised for 23mm tyres. If you are running discs, and your frame has clearance, a wider rim is going to provide better support for a 25mm or 28mm tyre, and they are going to

Anyone using a rim with a 22C inner width is not going to be above 90psi.
A 25mm GP4000 would measure 28 to 29mm wide and and likely run 70-80psi, depending on rider weight.
A 28mm GP4000 would measure 32 to 33mm wide and and likely run 50-60psi, depending on rider weight.
Yishun have the deepest Disc rims with a wide profile that I have found:

Are there any Nextie road rim/wheels users here? How are these holding up? How’s the braking and how easy or hard are tyres to mount? Thinking of purchasing a set of their premium rims

How do you check brake track wear on these wheels? The brake track has become somewhat shiny/reflective on mine, I don't think it is a problem since they haven't used up a single set of pads yet, but I figured I would ask proactively what to look out for.

After a long time of consideration, I finally want to buy a carbon wheelset for my bikes. I've looked at Farsports and LB's products. I thought about buying a wheelset with 28 mm rims, so I found this combination at Farsports:
Clincher FSC58CM-28 mm rims, UD Matt, 20/24H (I weigh 68 kg)
DT Swiss 240s, upgraded to 36 ratchets, J-bend
Sapim CX-Ray, black
Sapim SILS, black
I can understand that wider rims are generally better, but I see most here buy 25 mm rims. Why is that? Is it because of clearence issues in the brake caliper? I have gone through many pages of the thread, but can't really find the answer, I might have missed something.
Another dilemma I have is whether I should buy with or without spoke holes, I can see the positives and negatives about both. And it should be said that I'm not going tubeless.
