Is HongFu the only place with the firecrest copies currently?

some info here: http://www.velobuild.com/wheels/4959-u- ... arbon-rims

i have only seen them on the HF website. might be elsewhere, but regardless i don't think they're actually available to purchase anywhere yet (the 25->27 U shapes aren't the same as the velobuild AERO2 rims afaik).

Been reading this thread a while so thought I'd jump in. Have just ordered a pair of 56T's from Hongfu, dealt with Vivian Zhang and paid $369.20 with delivery to the UK. The only rims that weren't available were the 40Ts. The weight was quoted as 427g for the 56T, 560g for 56C and 480g for the 40C.

Wow, $369.20 for two rims?! I thought we were talking ~$700 for a built-up wheelset here (are we still?).

So you are saying you have actually ordered the 56mm Tubular, but they claim to have the 40mm Tubular version of the new toroidal aero at HongFu in stock?

Nancy @hongfu told me yesterday that they are showing the 56clincher in stock as of Monday. I'm waiting for her to snap a picture of it for me to prove they are actually in stock.

I will post those pictures as soon as I get them.

I love the Chinese! I've been begging for a picture of this wheel in hand so I could a) make sure it is actually ready to ship, and b) see the quality of the moulding process, and build, etc.

Well, after months of waiting this is the picture she just sent me ::

As you can clearly see, the build quality is nothing to be afraid of, etc... :noidea:

Vivian Zhang <sales06@hongfu-bikes.cn>, they were posted yesterday so I guess it'll be a couple of weeks before they turn up depending how quickly they go through customs. Shall post a few pics once they arrive.

Yeh I've ordered the 56mm tubs, the 40s weren't in stock in tubular, (clincher was OK), from what I gathered, but it can be hard to understand exactly what they're trying to say at times.

I contacted Nancy about the 40mm clinchers and she told me that once she receives the money it takes from 30-45 days. She said that there is a lot of demand that's why it takes so long.

She told me it was 375$ + 75$ ship to Canada + 4% for the paypal.

for those wondering if velobuild will sell the wide rims as a complete wheelset, they just announced that they will no longer be a seller of bicycle parts and frames.
