Finally got my 45mm wheels from Light-Bicycle just a few minutes ago, finally. They are beautiful. Very nice finish and everything looks to be top notch at this point. It was very nicely packaged. I will get a weight on them in a few days as I have to run over to my teammates house to use the digital scale.

Give me a week or so to get everything built up and I will get back to you fellas on how they ride.

Now I'm hoping the Hutchinson Galactik Tubeless tires mount up smoothly or I'm out $100 and have to go back to clincher.

Finally!!!!

I recieved the wheels today and took them for a 60 km test ride in mixed conditions.

They feel absolutely great - at first i was thinking that they were better than my zipp 404 fc tubular but i will have to do some more training on them and then switch to the 404s again.

I weighed the wheels on a luggage weight (not very accurate) and i came to the conclusion that they are about 1470 g for the naked wheels without rim tape, skewers etc.

I put on a set of GP4000 and some micheling latex tubes and my bike gained about 400 g which i find strange as the 404 FC are not that light. Are GP4000 a heavy tire??

Anyway questions are more than welcome - i paid tax etc. when they arrived but i still think they are great wheels and i would say they ride as a wheel twice as expensive.

I have previously ridden:
- Mavic Cosmic Carbone
- Zipp 404/808 Clincher (pre carbon clincher) (sold)
- Zipp 808 tubular (pre firecrest)
- Zipp 404 Tubular (pre firecrest) (sold)
- Zipp 202 tubular (pre firecrest) (sold)
- Zipp 404 Firecrest tubular

edit: trying to find someway to upload pictures :noidea:

GP4000S are about 205g and tubes are anywhere from 60-90gms typically each. Really depends on the tubes. I don't run tape, veloplugs, way light and perform fine.

I know :)

Zipp 404 FC tubular - 1.380 g
CCC - 1.470 g

Weight gain 90 g approx.

The tubulars tires weigh around 250-275g each

Continental GP4000 - 210 g each
Michelin latex tube - 75 g approx

So maybe a worst case 2 * 50 g = 100 g weight gain

So where did the rest come from ??? Skewers will try and change them tomorrow and weigh again.

However the wheels are still great :)

EDIT: forgot the rim tape - no idea of the weight??? - will veloplugs save weight??

i will post a bunch of pics for you guys soon. give me a break i been busy lol.

the profile is crazy close to the Zipp 303 FC Clincher. I went to a bike shop that had some on display and compared in person right next to the Zipps and its almost identical. The LB 45 might be ever so slightly thinner, like 1-2 mm.

Where do you live that you had to pay tax?

My 45mm U rims with bitex ED 11s hubs were 625 for the front and 764 for the rear.

How much did that run you for and how long did it take for them to build/ship it? Also, what's the complete spec's build? Those hubs seriously looks like BHS' UL66 and UL190.

The hubs are probably the same hubs. Bitex is a source of hubs for many. My total was 660 shipped to the US. I am a little disappointed that these were not like farsports with the basalt braking surface but I'll see how they stop. I'm in a flat area so not much brake use other than the sudden abrupt stops.

Forgot to mention. Ordered 8/20. Received 9/10. Wheels are 20/24 with pillar bladed spokes. Bitex ed hubs 11sp shimano. Radial front/radial 2x rear.

I'm highly interested in Light-Bicycle's U-Shaped 45MM. How's everyone's wheel riding so far? Also, what's Light-Bicycle's rim and wheel quality like in general?
